Reflexive dialogue and critical self-reflection
Challenging ourselves - critical self reflection on power and privilege
A key aspect of the HPW framework is to engage in regular self-reflection. Partners should reflect on their own positions and also on the process in which the partnership is engaging. Along with reflection, it is important to have dialogue about the process and how the project is developing. Reflexive practice is a key element of learning and growth as advocated by Paulo Friere.
We offer two approaches to guide reflexive dialogue: a) River of Life and b) Critical self-reflection. The use of evaluation tools can also guide reflexive dialogue and that is discussed in another section.
